Bedford Blues announce TicketCo as new ticketing partner

by | Aug 20, 2019

Bedford Blues have appointed TicketCo to make purchasing tickets easier for supporters on a new mobile friendly sales platform and scanning system.

TicketCo have been made the official ticketing partner of the Greene King IPA Championship Club to provide mobile-first technology. It will manage all ticketing sales for the 5,000 capacity Goldington Road ground.

Scandinavian simplicity
The partnership has been formed to simplify the purchasing process at Bedford Blues and improve the user experience for fans via the integration of the TicketCo platform.

The TicketCo mobile technology sends ticket with QR codes to supporters’ smartphones which are then scanned at turnstiles to gain entry on match-day. The platform also provides Bedford Blues with an online ticketing and payment facility which integrates with the club’s website and Facebook page.

Improves the user-experience
Gareth Alred, Bedford Blues’ Chief Operating Officer, said: “We are looking forward to working with TicketCo to improve our user-experience when purchasing tickets online. The TicketCo platform is straight forward to use and will definitely improve our match-day scanning function, making better use of new mobile technologies, with no need to even print at home.

“We appreciate this is change for supporters, but it is designed to provide an improved supporter experience, gain a further understanding of our attendees, integrate into our other systems and help us drive the club’s growth commercially.

Tickets to pre-season matches for sale
“The reason for the change is also two-fold, not just does it improve all of the above areas and illustrates our ability to change with the times, however we have also been let down by our previous provider without notice this summer. Therefore I would like to thank TicketCo for their work to date.”

The TicketCo system has launched and tickets for Bedford Blues pre-season matches against Cambridge on Friday 23rd August and Cardiff Blues on Saturday 14th September are now on sale via the platform. Click here to purchase.

Quick and easy payments
David Kenny, TicketCo UK Country Manager, said: “We’re proud to have partnered with a Club that is passionate about fan engagement and innovating its ticketing system. We are working closely with the club to use our modern cashless technology to enhance the fan experience and help the Blues grow commercially.”

TicketCo’s technology is designed to make event payments quick and easy for both organisers and consumers, thanks to its pioneering technology. The platforms’ technology is compatible with Android and iOS devices.

TicketCo has offices in Norway, the UK, Poland and Sweden. It has partnerships with several football clubs, including Kilmarnock, Wycombe Wanderers, SK Brann and Legia Warsaw.
