Crazy golf – a massive milestone
Two months after the UK launch, TicketCo has signed the first UK contract. The first client to board the Norwegian developed sales platform is Junkyard Golf Club.
“Junkyard Golf Club is all about crazy golf. But one thing is to run a crazy concept. Quite another thing is to act crazy. If you had told me a year ago that we would sign up with a Norwegian partner to handle our sales and revenue, I would have thought you were mad,” admits founder and director Christopher Legh.
Yet, that’s exactly what the successful entertainment rocket now have done.
First UK client
After two years of operating in multiple locations, Junkyard Golf Club now feel they have found a ticketing and payments partner who understands their needs. By signing up with TicketCo, Christopher Legh can officially appoint himself the company’s first UK client in a series of many more to come.
“We ran a tender process in September, and to our own surprise TicketCo made a massive impact on us. They stood out from their competitors with a clear problem solving attitude, and they really understood our needs. So we decided to go for this unknown runner up in October, and from then on it has been full speed ahead to get our needs incorporated and taken care of in their platform. We are now ready to push the start button, and from the 1st of January our customers can experience Junkyard Golf Club teamed up with the smooth TicketCo technology,” Christopher Legh says.
He is confident that everything will run as planned.
“TicketCo is serving big clients in Norway, and they’re doing so in an impressive way – with user friendly solutions for both their clients and their ticket buyers. Furthermore, we have very similar business cultures, and collaborate really well,” he adds.
Golf, cocktails and loud music
The Junkyard Golf Club adventure started in Manchester two years ago, and was initially meant to last for two weeks. After experiencing immediate success, they prolonged their rare mix of crazy golf, cocktails and loud music for another six months before making it a permanent business not long after.
From Manchester they expanded to London and what Christopher Legh describes as an ideal location in Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane. In December 2017 they opened their third location, this time in Oxford at the Westgate shopping centre. By the end of 2018 they are aiming for a total of six clubs nationwide.
“We have grown to be a big business, employing 170 and handling more than 10 000 guests each week. With Oxford up and running from December 2017 the total will reach 12 to 13 000,” the Junkyard Golf Club founder and director finishes.
Massive mile stone
The signing of Junkyard Golf Club is a massive mile stone for their Norwegian supplier TicketCo, and chairman Tore Totland is pleased to see that their UK expansion is succeeding. At the same time he is confident that this is only the first of many contracts to come, due to the unique product TicketCo is offering.
“There are no similar products on the market today, anywhere. TicketCo is a unified platform for efficient event payments, and our goal is to create the first global standard for all types of event payments. The event industry is both complex and diversified, but this does not mean that the sales operations needs to suffer from the same illness. We have created a smooth and user friendly sales platform with great adaptability, and the potential is fully proved by this new partnership,” he states.
Mr. Totland is looking forward to next year with great expectations.
“Junkyard Golf Club is our first UK client, but there are more to come. We have only just begun our UK adventure,” he finishes.
