Just The Tonic Comedy Club become partner of TicketCo Media Services pay-per-view service

by | May 5, 2020

Leading UK comedy promoter Just the Tonic have partnered with TicketCo to launch its own TV station to entertain people staying at home.

Comedian and star of 8 Out of 10 Cats Jon Richardson will feature in the first episode of ‘This Glorious Lockdown’ on Just the Tonic’s pay-per-view online TV channel on May 9th. The channel will provide a live comedy club experience featuring its comedians.

Just the Tonic are the first UK company to partner with TicketCo Media Services which was launched earlier this month to help event organisers during the COVID-19 lockdown. TicketCo enables promoters and venues to book performance artists and to broadcast exclusive pay-per-view events via the internet on their own TV channel. Full HD quality and crystal-clear sound can be enjoyed on any device. There are no set-up costs, an affordable pay-as-you-go price plan and streaming software is included. Digital tickets can be sold for the virtual events via The TicketCo app.

Darrell Martin, Just the Tonic founder, said: “If you can’t go to the comedy club, we’ll bring the comedy club to you. TicketCo’s innovation has created a wonderful opportunity for us to continue to engage and deliver brilliant comedy and a bit of relief during a tough period for everyone.”

Just the Tonic is encouraging the public to create their own parties at home. Comedians including Jon Richardson, Naomi Cooper, Darius Davis, Phil Ellis and Adam Bloom will join Darrell to provide the closest to a live gig experience as possible. Other big names are in discussion over future events.

David Kenny, UK Country Manager said: “Just the Tonic is a fantastic comedy club and we’re proud to have formed a partnership built on innovation and a desire to continue to deliver during COVID-19. We believe there is a huge desire for top-quality content during the lockdown. Society is on lockdown, but TicketCo Media Services is available for organisers to engage their audiences and maintain their businesses via new revenue streams.”

Just the Tonic was founded in Nottingham 25 years ago and has become one of the most respected comedy venues in the UK. It hosts countless up-and-coming comics as well as the most established names. It has venues in Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham, Reading and Watford, plus at Leicester Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

TicketCo is a cloud-based event payment company, with offices in Norway, the UK, and Sweden.

About us

At TicketCo we have built our business on providing an easy to use digital platform for event organisers, artists, and venues to sell tickets and market their events. We have always been at the forefront of developing our own technology to adapt and provide a service and platform that is relevant in the digital age.

When lockdown hit the industry the team at TicketCo soon realised it was an opportunity and the company invested in R&D to develop and launch TicketCo Media Services, a new pay per view live streaming and video on demand service. It is combined with our ticketing platform so organisers and artists can monetise digital content and events.
