Live streaming success for COVID-19 affected organiser

Are you considering holding pay-per-view live streaming concerts? The prestigious venue BLÅ in Oslo has turned crisis into success with TicketCo TV.

“It is awesome. We’re running our first livestream this Saturday, and based on how it looks right now my guess is that we will end up somewhere between 750 and 1,250 paid tickets at an average price of £25,” said managing director of BLÅ, Stefan Jansen.

Grammy nominated pop trio

The first live streamed pay-per-view concert at BLÅ will be with the several times Norwegian Grammy nominated pop trio No. 4, a highly beloved band who have toured all of Norway the last few years, and headlined many of the major festivals.

On Saturday 25 April they will play at BLÅ in front of a four camera production which will be broadcast as pay-per-view through TicketCo TV. The organiser promises an intimate and exclusive experience with a full line-up.

Generates valuable revenue

“This is something we have never done before. We will run a series of concerts like this over the next few weeks, and one of the things we need to reveal is what we can charge for events like this. For No. 4 we are charging £20 for a digital ticket, and we’re also offering a family or friends ticket at the price of £35. This is for small groups of 4-5 people who want to watch the concert together, and we are thrilled to see that one out of four tickets sold so far is of this kind. This shows great morale amongst our ticket buyers,” Stefan said.

He predicts that expected live streaming success will enable BLÅ to keep their technicians and creative staff employed during the Covid-19 crisis.

“This will generate valuable revenue for both the artists and BLÅ. For us this revenue stream will be crucial. With five concerts like this each month there will be activity at BLÅ again, and we will be able to pay our wages, bills and taxes.

“We are certain that TicketCo TV can be a great value add for us in the long run, when the crisis has passed and our business is back to normal. Then it will enable us to offer digital tickets to those who are eager to experience one of our concerts, but can’t make the trip to Oslo. This is something we will look into later. Right now, with COVID-19 closing down all live events in Norway, we will focus on our pay-per-view concerts. They will get us through these difficult times, and secure both our club and our staff,” the BLÅ managing director stated.

About us:

At TicketCo we have built our business on providing an easy to use digital platform for event organisers, artists, and venues to sell tickets and market their events. We have always been at the forefront of developing our own technology to adapt and provide a service and platform that is relevant in the digital age.

When lockdown hit the industry the team at TicketCo soon realised it was an opportunity and the company invested in R&D to develop and launch TicketCo TV, a new pay per view live streaming and video on demand service. It is combined with our ticketing platform so organisers and artists can monetise digital content and events.
