Meet our new Partner Key Account Manager for Culture
TicketCo is scaling fast in UK, and we are pleased to welcome Patch Jobson onboard as Partner Key Account Manager for Culture.
“It was actually my last job that brought me here,” said Patch Jobson a few weeks into his new role as Partner Key Account Manager for Culture within TicketCo.
“As the Business Executive at TourLife, I was tasked with having to search the market for the best platform to livestream content for our clients. The majority of offerings were very confusing and complicated, but then I came across TicketCo Media Services. I quickly understood that here was a company with a rock solid product, and also a completely different angle to the subject of streaming.”
“TicketCo came from a different place, leading from the ticketing and customer experience side, and not the complicated technical side of live streaming. The platform is not only about the streaming. It’s also about allowing simple monetisation, and of course the incredible user friendliness. In the midst of the pandemic pay-per-view streaming and video-on-demand was a brilliant way to stay in business, and simplicity and great user experiences is vital to that extent,” he said.
In fact, Mr Jobson was so impressed by TicketCo Media Services that he gladly endorsed the streaming platform in an interview with the TicketCo blog earlier this year.
“TicketCo has taken what the rest of the industry has turned into a complicated monolith and simplified it for everyday people,” said Patch. “Their services work extremely well, and the customer support is exceptional. Initially, we all thought TicketCo was too good to be true,” said Patch at the time in our blog post that can be read here.
A few months later he has changed hats and is now on the TicketCo side of the table. The journey that got him here started at the age of 14, when he began his career in commercial radio.
“I worked in radio for more than 10 years. Then I was lured over to the dark side of events at the age of 25, and I have stayed here ever since. It has given me the chance to work at independent extreme sports events and festivals such Glastonbury, and Electric Picnic where I had several roles. In 2014 I also formed my own production company which specialised in working with Food Festivals. Alongside this we also produced and promoted touring theatre shows, so I know the event industry from many different angles, and I’m thrilled to continue my career within the industry as Partner Key Account Manager for Culture at TicketCo.”
On the back of the pandemic, TicketCo have decided to permanently switch from a pre-pandemic centralised to a post-pandemic distributed work force. Rather than gathering the UK sales force at the London office, everyone works from home.
For Patch his home address in Somerset and his weekend address is in Dorset will be the centre of his professional life.
“That doesn’t matter for my engagement though,” he said. “Like the rest of the UK team I will cover all of Britain. The entire world is only a video call away these days and TicketCo Media Services has made the world even smaller. Streaming has given organisers everywhere global outreach, and it is now my pleasure to bring UK organisers out there.”
