Solihull Moors FC introduce ‘Honesty Boxes’
The forward-thinking English football club is offering fans the chance to watch their team for whatever they wish to pay, with TicketCo systems helping to manage the event.
Solihull Moors, who are seeking to win promotion to the EFL for the first time in their history, have made Tuesday’s home fixture with Sutton United an ‘honesty game’. Supporters can enter the ground for free and choose to donate to honesty boxes that will help raise funds for the club’s community projects, including a sensory room for local children.
“We have already seen more than 1,000 advanced tickets purchased via our TicketCo online platform”, said club chief executive Calvin Barnett.
Entry to the ground will be via a TicketCo QR code, which can be displayed on the TicketCo Wallet App and is available to download for free from the club’s website.
“That’s well up on our normal pre-sales at this stage, so not only can we plan accordingly I’m also sure it’s going to be a great atmosphere inside the ground.”
“We are modernising the whole infrastructure of the club – and online ticketing has been a key part of this – so it’s a chance for us to welcome new faces and lapsed supporters into the ground to see what we are trying to build here”, he added.
An innovative initiative
Club chairman Darryl Eales added:
“We are looking at innovative ways to increase our fan base and raise much needed funds for our community initiatives, especially our new Sensory room.
“The Sutton game is an opportunity for everyone to come to the game for free, experience our new facilities, enjoy what I am sure will be a fantastic game of football and donate as much as or as little as they can towards our community projects.”
Solihull Moors have partnered with TicketCo since 2018 and now operate cashless turnstiles at all home games.
