TicketCo enters the Swedish second tier
Shortly after entering into the league partnership with the Swedish third tier – Ettanfotboll – TicketCo has signed up with the second tier club Syrianska FC. “This is another milestone for us and I’m very happy that our existing customers have played a part recommending us,” says TicketCo’s Swedish Country Manager.
“We have high ambitions in Sweden. With Legia Warsaw and Kilmarnock FC as strong profiled clients in Poland and Scotland, and half of the Norwegian top league clubs as clients as well, we expect that the Swedish football clubs soon will follow,” says Stefan Palmquist.
Highly dynamic sales platform
TicketCo’s Swedish Country Manager – previously Sales Director for the Nordic region at Spotify – is happy to see Syrianska FC amongst TicketCo’s new clients in Sweden.
“TicketCo can serve and add value to a wide range of football clubs, from massive organisations such as Legia Warsaw and down to lighter travellers such as Syrianska FC. We are highly dynamic, and we are glad to be able to serve this great club with user friendly ticketing and payments solutions,” he concludes.
Worldwide fan base
Syrianska FC was founded by Syriac-Aramean immigrants in Stockholm in 1977 as Suryoyo SK, and changed name to Syrianska FC as the club grew and advanced through the league system in 1986. In 2010, after two years in the Swedish second tier Superettan, Syrianska FC was promoted to the top league Allsvenskan.
Syrianska FC has a worldwide fan base, and since the Syriac people do not have an official national team, the club is often seen as a substitute. Last season Syrianska FC played in the third tier Ettanfotboll. After being promoted they are now in Superettan, and their goal for the season is to stay up.
Stepping into the mobile age of payments
“After playing in Ettanfotboll last season, we have strong connections throughout that league. TicketCo was brought to our attention through these contacts, and we decided it was upon time for Syrianska FC to step into the mobile age of payments and ticketing as well. Now we are eagerly waiting to get started, says the club CEO Iso Gursac.
Syrianska FC plays their home matches at Södertälje Fotbollsarena in Stockholm, with a capacity of 6,100.
“We gathered a crowd of 4,000 when playing in Allsvenskan. This season we have gathered between 1,000 and 2,000 at the home matches. Through the marketing tools in TicketCo we are hoping to increase this number during the season,” Mr Gursac states.
User friendly sales and marketing platform
Ice hockey and basket are the two most popular sports in the district of Södertälje, but Syrianska FC have a firm belief that they will match the competition.
“We are a small club, highly based upon volunteers. We needed a user friendly sales and marketing platform to make the step into the mobile age, and we found this tool in TicketCo. As soon as we are up and running with TicketCo as the heart of our sales and marketing operations, we will increase our outreach and hopefully climb to old hights when it comes to the number of attendees,” finishes the CEO of Syrianska FC.
