Facebook unlocks sales section
It is quite certain your audience will soon take for granted they can purchase more than just your tickets through your Facebook page. So how can you increase your event sales? By using Facebook! The vast majority of organisers have a Facebook page, and many have items on sales such as food and drinks, accommodation or merchandise.
Simple and efficient
Now, Facebook has launched a new sales channel for these goods. There is now a shop section on your page. This is brilliant news for those who have anything to sell, and likes to do it easily and efficiently.
The new Facebook feature is being released now, but it may not be available on your Facebook page yet. If you are not one of the lucky ones that can already use it, it’s on its way. And the best part is: It’s completely free of charge.

Easy to set up and use
Like everything else on Facebook, it is easy to set up the new shop section and they have published a detailed overview of requirements and recommendations. The requirement is that you have to display at least one image per product and that the image must be of the product itself (and not, for instance, a symbol or illustration). You should display square-sized images that are easy to understand, shows the entire product and have a resolution of at least 1024 x 1024 pixels.
Make your products visible
Once you have created a store section on your page, you can share the products on your timeline, and tag and promote them as well. By clicking on the Publishing tool at the top of your page, then on the Store tab in the left hand menu and lastly at Products, you will get insights on views and messages about each product.
Events are using the feature already
The Malakoff Rock Festival uses TicketCo and has already begun to use the new shop feature on Facebook. If you click on any of the items in their shop section, you will get a more detailed description of the item, as well as a payment button that links directly to their own web shop. It is also possible to make it even easier. If you are a TicketCo organiser, it is sufficient to directly link it to your TicketCo page to utilise the feature.
